A town built for browsing
Keswick’s compact streets are ideal for browsing and make a pleasant change from the larger towns and cities. You will find everything from your daily requirements to that elusive special gift to take home.
There are many independent shops offering antiques, books, paintings and pottery, jewellery, speciality foods and local produce, as well as clothes, gifts and traditional toys. There are supermarkets in Keswick and in Cockermouth, and many of the smallest villages have well-stocked general stores for day-to-day needs.

The markets
A traditional weekly market is held in Keswick on Saturdays. A local produce and craft market, specialising in Made in Cumbria products, takes place on most Thursdays of the year.
