The Lakes Distillery occupies a converted Victorian farmstead in Cumbria, with fells rising dramatically behind. The distillery produces around 130,000 litres of pure alcohol annually, taking a design-led approach to whisky making.
Whiskies are matured in Spanish oak ex-sherry casks, imparting dried fruit, spice and ginger notes, whilst European oak Oloroso and PX casks contribute treacle toffee, dark chocolate and orange oil. The Lakes Gin is a classic London dry style, infused with botanicals in British wheat spirit and Lake District water, non-chill filtered for natural colour and richer mouthfeel.
