Dubwath Silver Meadows is a traditional wetland site located near the west end of Bassenthwaite Lake. Maintained by volunteers, it is a peaceful area with a variety of birds, butterflies and rare plants that call it home. It's also a fully accessible walk suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
The walks consist of stone paths and recycled board walks where you can walk in a loop through a variety of different bogs and heaths.
The site is free for visitors all year round. It is fully accessible for wheelchairs, pushchairs and trampers. Due to deer and ground nesting birds in the area, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
Dubwath Silver Meadows supports an amazing variety of plant communities and habitats that range from open wetland to wet woodland and from open grassland to dry woodland. Roe deer are regularly seen in the reserve, alongside sightings of badgers, bats, red squirrels, voles and mice.

- Located just off the A66 at the Pheasant Inn/Dubwath junction, at the west end of Bassenthwaite Lake. Bus X5 (Keswick - Cockermouth via Thornthwaite), alight at Dubwath and the X4 (Keswick - Cockermouth via Castle Inn), alight at Brathay Hill. Car: A66 and follow signs for the Pheasant Inn. The route starts 200 metres north of the inn. Informal parking is available by the road side, please park considerately
