A competition with the Keswick Lions
Keswick Tourism Association were delighted to work with the Keswick Lions on a competition to design a tourism leaflet. The Lions visited the five local primary schools around Keswick to ask our young resident experts to design a leaflet telling people about all the great things they love to do around Keswick. There were some fantastic recommendations which we hope will give you plenty of ideas for great family days out in and around Keswick the Lake District. Start your Keswick Adventure here...

Good for all weather, prepare to be amazed. How does that chair slide uphill? How can you be twice the size of your friends? Prepare for your mind to be blown.
A treatGo Ape
For a special treat fly through the mountain at Whinlatter Forest using zip wires and ropes whilst challenging yourself with obstacles.
FreeWalks
There are lots of lovely walks around Keswick and they are all completely free. There is a lovely walk up Catbells. You can catch Keswick Launch to the start and climb up the steep craggy mountain for amazing views of the lake.

It's a place for all ages and filled with fun. Gardens, playgrounds and lakeside walks.

There is a lot to do for all of the family - crazy golf (can you get a hole in one?), pitch and putt, remote control boats, bird viewing lovely gardens. The cafe lets you sit inside or out and enjoy the beautiful view.

Fun for all weathers. It has incredibly interesting exhibitions which change every few months.
Castlerigg Stone Circle
See if you can work out who built the stone circle...it's a mystery.

Lots of activities and fun things to do including bike trails and Cyclewise bike hire, terrific play area, different orienteering courses, Go Ape Adventures and multiple walking trails. A great time will be had whether you have young legs, old legs or four legs.
The Alhambra Cinema
The Alhambra Cinema is the best place for seeing lots of different films. The cinema has a desk as you go in where you can buy sweets or popcorn or drinks. Sit back and relax and enjoy the film.

Ye Olde Friars of Keswick
This delightful shop has been making chocolates since 1927 and is located in the Market Square. It is an icon of Keswick, visit and treat yourself to some chocolates and sweets.
Latrigg
Latrigg is a mountain located in Keswick. The summit looks over the whole of Keswick. Latrigg is ok for younger children too because it's not far up.
Derwentwater
You can do lots of outdoor activities like windsurfing, kayaking and canoeing.

The home of the first pencil. Through words, pictures and carefully restored machinery you can trace the history of pencil making and see how Derwent pencils are made today.
All the familyKeswick Launch
Keswick Launch is a boat that goes across Derwentwater. It sails past four islands. Beautiful views and good for all ages. You can travel all around the lake and stop at any jetty.
And one that is not a place
Something for all weather, rain or shine so why not give it a go. It happens in whichever beck the guide picks, so it is not somewhere you can put a pin: see water sports for who runs it.
